All classes will have 1 hour of prenatal yoga and 1 hour of theme technique and teaching for every type of birth on various topics:

  • October 22 – The Biology of Labor and Birth, taking fear of out birth and understanding the unknown: Including what is really going on with my body, understanding how this beautiful body works during labor and birth increases confidence and reduces fear.

  • November 12 – Preparing for Labor: including creating space, learning to soften and understanding your birthing muscles, birthing positions.

  • December 17 – Breast Health and Feeding your Baby: including breast milk supply, nutrition, Breast vs Bottle and the benefits and struggles of both.

  • January 7 – Pain Relief Option: including massage, relaxation, breathing techniques, meditations and medications.

  • February 4 – Understanding The Birth Plan: including birthing medical terminology; what my nurses and doctors are talking about, and how it affects me and my baby, labor and new born medications, the 24 hours before labor, induction of labor, trail of labor after a cesarean section, primary cesarean section and the first 24 hours of my newborns life in the hospital or birth center.

MARIE JEAN SINGH BSN; Labor/Delivery/ Postpartum RN, Certified Yoga Instructor ERYT200-2001, Certified National Massage Therapist 1000hr-2003.
Marie Jean’s yoga path began 25 years ago, she studied with local and world renowned masters like Johnna Trimmer of Laguna Yoga in Southern California, Jhon T of Atmanda Yoga in NYC, Yogi raj Swami Bua Ji of NYC and Gurmukh in Los Angeles and NYC. Teaching and traveling back and forth from Southern California to NYC, NY she grew in her love and devotion for Sivananda, The School of Bihar in India, and Yoga Nidra. Teaching all levels of yoga classes, leading and assisting 200hr teacher training programs, hosting yoga retreats, her style of teaching is an eclectic style emphasizing prana, flow, awareness, breathing/pranayama, yoga nidra and the therapeutic effects on the body, mind, and soul. She loves to laugh and play, and also dedicated to the discipline of yoga. She is known as an energetic, inspiring, and balanced teacher. Her personal connection and warmth toward her student has always created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere no matter what level or where she is teaching. Marie Jean has been a full time Labor and Delivery Nurse since 2013, working currently at a birth center in San Diego, and also is a nursing instructor for Labor and Delivery at Palomar College. She started teaching prenatal yoga just before her first pregnancy in 2005, and prior to becoming a RN, worked as a Doula. MJ has two beautiful daughters and currently pregnant with her third. With a passion for teaching and empowering women to have their best birth experience, with no judgments or expectations. Her classes are physically challenging, relaxing, and full of knowledge.
