Melaminah Herriman

Melaminah is a 200 hour Certified Yoga Instructor and has been teaching since 2006. Her teaching style is heavily influenced by cultivating what she calls “Body Wisdom” – the innate language and subtle intuition that our body uses to communicate what we need at any given moment whether physical, emotional, mental, and/or spiritual.  In each class, she passionately guide others to refine this understanding to promote wisdom, healing and wellness holistically – body, mind and spirit. We prepare the muscles for work, challenge mind and body, and reshape our lives both on and off the mat. She creates a safe space for her students to find and explore their edges with the understanding that each day is a new and different provocation of our abilities. She provides many options so that students can feel challenged yet successful while mindfully listening to their bodies. She encourages letting go of judgement, expectation, and competition with others and ourselves thus creating an environment where students are able to remove obstacles and limitations.

In addition to teaching yoga, she is the Co-founder of Mermaid Medicine Women where she and her partner Jessica Neagle help women heal from heartbreak, reclaim their power, and create the lives they love. Here, she applies her training in trauma sensitive yoga techniques and Shamanism to empower clients and foster success.
