Lena Gelland

Lena discovered the Pilates method n 1999 as a cure for the chronic back pain. Ever since she has been practicing Pilates convinced in its incredible benefits for mind and body. In 2015 she started her formal training with STOTT PILATES to become a fully certified instructor for mat work and equipment. . In addition to basic requirements, Lena completed enhanced training with focus on post rehab clients and those with special health conditions and needs.

Pilates is for every age or fitness level. It is a kinder and smarter exercise with emphasis on the body’s powerhouse, proper breathing technique, and correct alignment. Easy on the joints, regular practice of Pilates will improve circulation, balance, and coordination. It will also create strong sleek muscles and promote good posture. For Lena learning to teach Pilates was a reword in itself. Watching her clients leave training sessions uplifted, with newfound body awareness, confidence, and control is a very gratifying experience.

Lena is a resident of Carmel Valley since 2003 and a parent of three wonderful boys. Currently, she teaches group and private Pilates equipment sessions while working towards her personal trainer certification. She holds an MBA degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Her passions are books, art, and continuously learning about the body in movement.

Emphasis on precise movements through core strength, alignment and breath. Sometimes called “intelligent fitness” because movement are designed to be preformed the way the body is intended to move. Develops a stable, strong, flexible and integrated body. It’s a perfect compliment to yoga. All levels welcome.
