We’ll be staying in Ojai in a beautiful historic craftsman home designed by visionary architects Greene & Greene. This home is listed in the National Registrar of Historic places, and according to Architectural Digest, “a closer approximation to Shangri-La is hard to imagine.” There are spectacular views of the mountains and valleys, beautiful organic gardens and citrus groves, swimming pool and jacuzzi, over 50 acres of wilderness for exploring and hiking, and gorgeous accommodations. The yoga practice area is extraordinarily beautiful and built to complement the graciousness of the setting. This weekend offers the perfect setting to unwind, reconnect with nature and go deeper into your yoga practice. Treat yourself, or bring a friend and experience the beauty and grace of this peaceful sanctuary.
The weekend includes sunrise meditation, morning and evening yoga practices and plenty of time for relaxation.

$585 room in main house or on the property
$540 for yurt space (beds in a circular tent with heat)
There are a few private rooms available for an additonal $125 fee

Physiology of Stretching
Sat 4/3/2010, 1:15 PM – 4:15 PM
Learn how to use stretch reflexes and other principles of physiology to safely and efficiently increase muscle length and strength. The class alternates between physiological explanation and active practice, progressing from the molecular structure of muscles to complex control of movement by the brain.
Feet: Anatomy and Practice
Sat 4/3/2010, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
The feet are the foundation of standing poses, and standing poses are the foundation of all yoga postures. This class will teach you how to use foot and lower leg anatomy to optimally strengthen, stretch, balance and align your feet, calves, and shins in standing and other asanas.
Knees: Anatomy and Practice

This class will teach you the anatomy of the knees – their bones, ligaments, muscles, and menisci – and how to apply this knowledge to protect, mobilize, and strengthen your knees in yoga practice.
Hips: Anatomy and Practice

Healthy hips promote a healthy spine and legs. Learn the anatomy of the hip joints and practice a powerful sequence of yoga postures to safely mobilize, align and strengthen them.
Sacroiliac Joint: Anatomy and Practice
Sat 4/17/2010, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
The sacroiliac (SI) joints link the spine to the pelvis. Injury here is common among yoga students and others. This workshop will teach you: –SI joint anatomy and kinesiology –Symptoms and signs of SI problems –Causes of SI injury –How to prevent SI problems –Specific yoga postures that often relieve SI pain.
Back and Trunk: Anatomy and Practice

This class will teach how to get your back and trunk strong, flexible and well-aligned. You will learn the anatomy of this region, and how to apply it in yoga postures to: –prevent injury –work with back problems –deepen your back bends, forward bends, side bends, and twists.
Shoulders: Anatomy and Practice

This class will teach you simple, effective ways to maximize shoulder mobility, strength and comfort. Learn how to use shoulder anatomy to progress step-by-step from simple movements to complete yoga asanas to a posture sequence that systematically works every part of the shoulder joint.
Neck: Anatomy and Practice

This class will teach you the anatomy of the neck and take you through a series of yoga postures specially tailored to keep to keep it safe, strong, mobile, and well-aligned.
Breathing: Anatomy and Practice

Breathing lies at the heart of yoga. This class will help you get the most out of any breathing system by teaching you the anatomy that drives it, and how to get the effects you want. You will literally get “hands on” practice of the mechanics of the lungs, airways, diaphragm, ribcage, the muscles that move the ribcage, abdominal movements, and related topics.
